A good bedtime routine is short, repeatable, and boring — in the best way. Boring signals safety to a tired brain, which is exactly what makes sleep come faster.

The 4-step wind-down

Step 1: Dim the lights an hour before bed. Step 2: Screens off, swap to a calm activity (reading, drawing, quiet play). Step 3: Hygiene — bath or shower, brush teeth, pajamas. Step 4: Connection — a story, a chat about the day, lights out.

Anchor it to the clock, not to mood
